the weekend…

I will NEVER ever use IE [ stupid browser ] to write a blog entry EVER!

I lost like, prolly 200 words. Now I don’t feel like recalling every detail that I put on that entry. Stupid Microsoft. GRRR!

Just highlights:
1. Friday was madly hectic! When I finished class at 12, decided to book a room for the next day’s Worship Workshop. Met up with Andrew, and went about with the booking. I have to admit, I almost lost my cool when I was asked to go through absolutely absurd procedures. AndrewAu was there to see it! Ehahaha. Midway during CF, I had to run off, due to an emergency. Had to resubmit my group’s project report because it fell short of the requirement. When I got back, CF was over. Proceeded to fill my since-1000am-hungry stomach.

Went back to catch a 45 minute nap before coming online again. Christine called, saying that EeLing wanted to have dinner.. so I gladly obliged. Was feeling on top of the world because I just caught a nap and felt great about having dinner at New Paris [ Section19, PJ ]. Excited about Cell later that night too. Dinner was very nice. Food was great, the company was good, and the price was right! Left early to make my way to Victor’s place and head down to SS19 for Cell.

Cell was… small. But it was great being able to see TinTin, Adrian, Raymond, and others back in the same place. Sharing was edifying, as we spoke about the year of 2004, and what’s ahead of us.. in 2005. Mamak-ed later that night, got home at 0030 hours. Stayed up till 3 to prepare for the Worship Workshop at 1000 in the morning.

2. Worship workshop went well. Super short, but praise God that I managed to squeeze out what was essential. Had a practical session, where I formed teams to lead a song with musicians and all. Everyone was involved in their own teams, and had a time of evaluation after every session. Really too bad we didn’t have time to go through more about worship and worship leading. Sigh. But anyhow, it was a good time! Had good feedbacks, in which are deeply appreciated.

3. Sunday was a long day. I slept only in the early morning on Sunday, and got up at 8. Was at church all the way till 1630 hours, after Church Review. It’s always good to know how the church is growing. Ehehe. Went home, caught some anime but was dozing off. Decided to stay awake and not sleep during the evening, so that my night sleep wouldn’t be disturbed. Cooked myself some chicken soup with toast, cleaned the house [ which involves sweeping and mopping only ], and hung out till late at night.

myself…

I learnt something about myself today. Came up with a description to match it too!

Are you able to distinguish a Penang driver from all the other drivers? Well, by the way they drive! I noticed something about my driving today, and I must say, I’ve never really viewed myself in that particular way.

I squeezed my way past a junction by sticking the head of my car out, halting traffic. That’s something that we normally do in Penang, when we’re at a busy junction, cause there’s no way you’re gonna get out of it if you wait for the road to clear up. Naturally, I just did that today and some of my passengers were… taken aback by my… boldness. Then, I just explained myself and said these words…

Ah, I guess I’m a big man, in a small car.

Try and figure out my choice of words? Ehehe. That’ll be fun, gathering feedback!

highlights of yesterday…

Here were some of the highlights of yesterday:

1. The baddest guy in church has repented, and it’s coming close to a total transformation. Come hear his testimony on the 20th February 2005 @ Glad Tidings Youth Church Service, 9:30 AM. Delivered from drug abuse, bullying, gangsterism, and many more. He was just sharing with me yesterday cause he wanted me to hear it first hand. I’ve stuck by him.. for about 2 years now, always encouraging him to straighten up, and come to church and pray and all, but praise God, it has come to pass. It brought me tears of joy, listening to his sharing. God is truly awesome.

2. I had a haircut and dye for RM56. Cheap le? MY regular barber. I was just telling HW yesterday, that it’s funny how I have a regular barber, but don’t have a doctor that I go to. I guess it’s a good thing, not going to the doctors often.

3. I received the church’s yearly planner. Yes, I’m going back to pen and paper. Only for my scheduling. I’ll still be carrying my Palm around.

thy Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit…

1 Peter 5:1-10
To Elders and Young Men
1To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers–not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; 3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. 5Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.” 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8Be selfcontrolled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Today, the word of God inspired me. I was just wallowing in… my own minute suffering when the verse “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you” came to my mind. It was of great comfort to me, so I looked it up in the Bible and found that the whole of verse 1 till verse 10 was speaking to me. Especially the part of being an overseer. And being the sheperd of God’s flock. And the .. aiyah.. all the verses I listed above spoke to me. I love it when the Holy Spirit reveals the Word of God to me. It’s so personal. Thank You, Holy Spirit.

how to imitate an ambulance…

Here are some steps to imitate an ambulance:

1. Turn your alarm on [ with hazard lights blinking and alarm screaming ]
2. Start your car
3. Drive like a madman/woman
4. Honk at every car you see
5. Flash your headlights if there’s a car in front of you

Inspired by a red kancil who drove off with it’s alarm ON. Hahaha. David[woohoo!]

cheras sunset…

Took these from my apartment. It’s … not exactly breathtaking, but a nice scene, nonetheless.

sg. congkak CF outing…

Had a good time with uni mates today at the Hutan Lipur Sg. Congkak outing that the CF planned. Got up at 0650. By 0720, I was at the uni waiting for people to arrive. Haven’t had such an early start since… I can’t remember.

We played some games on the field, ate and dipped in the cool stream water.

Pictures!

Almost everyone was wet. Good time.
Treading through the jungle… barefooted. Hmm… not very wise.
Hanging by the bridge…
The heat really got to me though. When I got back, I had a headache.. in which I shook off by taking a shower, and sleeping for about 2 hours. I’m wondering what’s happening to the ozone layer above us. The last thing that we need in Malaysia is an ozone hole right above our heads, like the one Australia has. The skies have been unusually clear.. which enables the sun’s rays shine through directly. *burnedDavid[woohoo!]

anger…

Matthew 5:23-24
23“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
