weekend update!

I know, it’s been due for a weekend update. These couple of days have been a blast, albeit the busyness and sickieness. Ahaha.

Friday

MeiCher helped with the worship in CF as I was trying to conserve my voice and recover for Saturday practise and Service the next day. She did alright! Just needs to lead more often and be familliar with more songs. Had a long lunch after CF at McD, as we [largest lunch crowd ever] took over the birthday room and had the place to ourselves. Went home after that to get rest and prepare for Cell later that night.

I picked Hermanto up, after a long disappearance from Cell and we drove down to Subang. Almost everyone in Cell was light hearted and easy, to my surprise. Well, that in turn would mean that they aren’t worrying about what’s to come. Cell Harvest’s round the the corner, and very little action has been taken by the cell members! Arrgh! Hope they snap outta it! Returned home kinda early, as I wanted to get enough rest for a long day tomorrow. And tomorrow came…

Saturday

Got up at 8:15, washed up and started studying for my test [10am]. Champion, huh? Test at 10am, studying an hour and a half before. So anyhow, did the test and it was okay. Easy LAR! Got home, dressed up and had lunch before heading down to Church for worship practice. By this time, my throat was a lot better, though my voice box was still kinda scratchy. Haven’t sung in a couple of days. Karat. Ehehe. Practice was awesome, and service itself was also good. Really saw people lifting their hands and … reaching out to God. These were the songs that day:

  1. God is great
  2. Firm Foundation
  3. Lord I lift Your name on high
  4. Holy and Anointed One
  5. Majesty
  6. Pre-sermon song : Jesus, What a Beautiful Name

Sunday

Hermanto came with me to church, again after a long disappearance. I’m glad that he’s back on track! Highlight of the day was the potbless at my place. It was kinda troublesome to get everyone over, but at the end of the day.. seeing happy and satisfied faces from the fellowship just makes it all worth it. I cooked curry kapitan chicken, and boy was there a lot of chicken! I had to separate it to two pots to make sure ALL the chicken was cooked properly. Lesson learnt from the last time I cooked curry chicken for my housemates. And yongmay who was … constantly bugging me to make sure. Hmm.. I think it went pretty well, considering the fact that not everyone brought something but opted to share. I didn’t have much of an agenda planned out either .. other than makan and makan but I think there was a little expectation for the host to do something. Anyhow, it was pleasant!

There, a weekend update!

another crazy weekend

What do ya know! Another crazy weekend to look forward to!

Friday:

  • Worship leading in CF

Saturday:

  • Communication Circuit Test 2
  • Worship leading in Saturday Service

Sunday:

  • Sunday Service
  • Pot Bless at my place

Meanwhile, I am still trying to recover from my sore throat. OD-ing on the nin jiom phei pah kou and Dequadin. Thanks for praying for me. I covet more of your prayers for God to speedily provide a speedier than speedy recovery. [ aye arriba arriba anderre anderre! ]

Today, I was out for lunch with the CFers and planned to go for prayer meeting. By the time prayer meeting time came, I couldn’t stand the air so I decided to go back and rest. As I was driving to the alley where I normally park my car, I was just thinking to myself,"Gosh, I’m really suffering under the sun and the heat." Then, when I parked, I noticed that a cloud had blocked the sunlight and it was not so hot. Immediately, I recognized that God was with me, taking care of me. He need not come in a flashy chariot or send down a pillar of fire for us to recognize that He’s there. It’s the little details that He puts in our lives that makes Him so awesome and caring.

PS: My condolences goes out to the citizens of England for their current crisis in London. May God continue to be their comfort and strength to those who seek Him.

OD : Over Dose

what a time for …

… a sore throat! Man. Plus, I’m worship leading this weekend. CF and Church. Thinking of getting a replacement worship leader in CF. I’m trying my best to nurse my throat back to health, with Dequadin [ in which Christine has so graciously offered to bring over in a while ], phei pha khou, and gurgling salt. Man, my throat is swollen. Have difficulty swallowing my own saliva! Argh.

EDIT : Gosh, I knocked my little right toe. It’s swollen too. Argh.

Star Days : The Boo Boos Strike Back.

It’s just one of days that everything just goes left.

1. Left the water tap running to fill up the electric jug. Somehow, it slipped my mind and the kitchen turned into a mini-swimming pool. Hmm.. maybe not. Think of .. the Pacific Ocean, to an ant. Ah.. there we go. Tried using the mop to suck up all the water but figured later that it wouldn’t be efficient. After asking Eunice’s mom if using my extra blanket would help, I covered the “ocean” with a big blue thing that’ll suck it up dry. Had to wring the blanket a couple of times into a bucket to get really get to the bottom of the ocean.

2. Had Adrian and Jason organize a birthday dinner for TinTin and Richard, my cell members whose birthday was today. Came up with some dumb idea to prank TinTin, and she took it … pretty bad. I can be such a dumbass sometimes.

There ya go. I’ve said it. I can be such a dumbass at times.

tagged of cooking?

Was tagged by the romantic lomantik.

1. What was your first memory of baking/cooking on your own?

- I remember cooking maggi mee once. Think it was my first. I don’t remember. My parents were going out for dinner, but didn’t prepare dinner for me. They were already going out and I told them that I’ll cook maggi mee for dinner. I had the impression that cooking maggi mee was simple. Just put water in the pot, and put the noodles and the contents of the sachet into it and voila.. dinner. When my parents came back, I asked my mom,”Ma, how come the maggi mee I cooked isn’t like yours? Mine was so soft and mushy.” She asked me how I cooked it and she replied,”Ah … you’re supposed to boil the water first, before putting the noodles and seasoning in!
2. Who had the most influence on your cooking?

- My momma. She taught me the most valuable lesson in life. Eat well. So, have cook well for myself. The taste of her cooking has left me with the desire to cook like her. She’s an awesome cook.

3. Do you have an old photo as “evidence” of an early exposure to the culinary world and would you like to share it?

- Early exposure to the culinary world? No. I don’t photograph myself cooking.

4. Mageiricophobia - Do you suffer from any cooking phobia, a dish that makes your palm sweat?

- Pineapple makes my nose sweat. Does that count? Oh .. it’s not a phobia.

5. What would be your most valued or used kitchen gadgets and/or what was the biggest let down?

- My “maggi mee” pot. It’s just a stainless steel pot that I’ve owned for as long as I can cook.. I mean .. remember. Let down? Those useless can openers that require you to use the rims as a fulcrum. Man. It slips like crap.

6. Name some funny or weird food combinations/dishes you really like - and probably no one else!

- let’s-do-this-more-often dish, proudly conjured by yours truly, EricLim and ShuLing. We all liked it. So did my housemate Isaac, last I made it. It’s grilled sausages with melted cheese and tomato sauce on top. Schweeeeeet!

7. What are the three eatables or dishes you simply don’t want to live without?

- peanut butter, chocolate, and milo

8. Any question you missed in this Meme, that you would have loved to answer?

- I don’t get this question. Help me, somebody?

9. Three quickies

- Marion, Marion and Marion! She’s hot. Only Malaysians who watch 8Tv would get it.

10. Who do you want most to cook you dinner?

- HueiWeun.

11. If you could change something in food science, what would you change?

- That food never go bad. Then can transport all my mother’s cooking for a whole year and have home cooked meals everyday.

12. Have you cut your fingers while cooking before?

- No, but I remember my brother cutting himself while trying to open a can of condensed milk early in the morning with the chopper. Hahahahaha! *laughs to self

13. Who would you tag this Meme to?

- What’s a meme?

first month of work in my life..

Today marks the first month of my work here at MacAsia. I guess I’m pretty glad that I am able to pass that one month mark … as I’ve never worked before in my life. I counted the amount of working hours that I’ve gone through .. and well, it’s come to a substantial amount. I can’t wait till my paycheck arrives! *excited! I’ve already got plans for it. Aha, I sound like a spendthrift, don’t I? Wait … wait …

I’m gonna fulfill my Missions Fund Pledge and Building Fund Pledge for this year! It’s been half a year, and I’ve been struggling to make ends meet even for myself, whatmore for God’s house? But I thank God for providing me the avenue to work and get some money! I enjoy giving to God. It’s a form of worship that I find fulfilling! Ah, when I fulfill, I am fulfilled! Then, the rest .. ehehe. I’m saving it. Gotta learn how to save money before I start working full time next time when I graduate.

I remember sharing about how I am not really a good steward of money that’s placed in my hands. I fall time and time again to do just that.. but I still do try. Though I do hope that when and if God does provide me with a wife.. that she’ll be a good financial planner. Ah. Ehehe.
