to rip, or be ripped off?

I was at the fruit stall the other day, cause I wanted to buy some fruits. There were some pretty looking China pears [yellow ones], but they cost RM10 for 6 pears. Without thinking, I decided to get some since they were so pretty looking.. Squeezed some of them, to see if they were hard and rocky or soft and juicy. I picked about 2, while mentioning to the seller that I only want a couple. I said about 3, and she picked another one for me. Since it was 3 pears, it cost me RM5. The thing was that I only had RM3 in my wallet after giving the rest to the chicken rice fella. So I told the fruits seller that I had only RM3. She said,"Oh, when you come by again someday, you can pay me the rest." So I left for home.

Was digging into my food at home, and I thought. Isn’t RM10 for 6 pears a wee bit expensive? I remember buying pears [nice pretty looking China pears] in Sentosa, Section17 at the market, 10 for RM3.50. That was like, after bargaining! And they were very sweet and juicy, as I brought them for my aunty in Klang. So, RM5 for 3 pears isn’t cheap at ALL! But here’s the question. Should I pay the lady back the balance of RM2, or ignore her everytime I pass her stall?

To rip, or be ripped off?

Give and it shall be given to you.. Luke 6:38

You’ll never know the other blessings you’ll get by giving back the RM2…

Give her back the extra you owe, and mention that you think RM10 is a bit expensive for 6 pears. She won’t take offense because you’ve just demonstrated your sincerity by returning what you owe from last week.

Whoa .. yesterday I was at the pasar malam and guess what? 9 apples for RM10! How can that be wor. :/

    Yeah. Luke 6:38 says,

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over .. Ehehehe! More lemons please.

Do the right thing man!

Actually, there’s no question to what you should do. Always do the right thing - that’s what makes a man.

Sometimes, my friends likes to do the ‘cheeky’ thing and be ’smart’ when they can ‘escape’, benefiting themselves and saying “those were to expensive” or “I’m just being street smart” and they like to lecture me back when I do the exact opposite. I always say this back to them “When you do things your way, I seldom stop you, so can you NOT lecture me when I’m doing something right?”. Then they’ll keep quiet :)

I think I’ll pay her back. Since I am a MAN of my WORDS.. Saying that I’ll pay the rest later.
