it’s a new season!

Durian season is upon us! Woohoo!

But that’s not what I’ll be writing about today.

stressed.

I am stressed.

I’ve got a job offer, and I’m split.

Long long long long gone are the days where decisions were made without heavy consequences entailing a bad call.

Lord. How Lord.

One of my aunts said,”It’s only at funerals and weddings that you cousins meet one another.”

weekday breakfasts

Whow. I can’t remember the last time I had the opportunity to cook breakfast on a week day. Heck, I don’t even wake up as early on weekends to make myself a hearty meal. It’s quite simple when you’ve got an electric cooker. No fire hazard, but of course .. not much control over the intensity of the heat when cooking. Which .. sometimes .. is a good thing .. cause there’ll be uniformity when it comes to the manner the food is cooked. Hah. The only thing missing was .. chocolate milk. Gotta get some soon.

Spent some quality time at home, cleaning, vacuuming, and wiping. And resting too, after that.

A thought came to me last week.

If people can’t manage their own home properly, how can they then manage companies, ministries, and life in general?

Point to ponder. Any thoughts? Leave a comment.

PS: Oh, I think this is the first time in many months (possibly years) that I am sitting at home comfortable, with cool air breezing through my hall (though cluttered with automotive noise from the main road) and blogging at ease. Seriously. The rest of the posts are .. sometimes .. post-dated. WordPress rocks.

mom’s birthday dinner

Liz and I travelled down to Yik Kee Restaurant, Karak for my mom’s birthday celebration with Aunty Nioh. Uncle Nioh’s so cute with his roundish features and small eyes.

Can you guys guess what the first dish is? Leave a comment! It’s a specialty.

Yik Kee Restaurant was one of the restaurants I grew up frequenting, whenever our parents were thrown business dinners in Karak. Brought back many memories, just eating there.

Cason, you missed this ..

When you coming baccckkk? We’ve been cooking, and it’s been real fun!

Deborah in Malaysia

Aha, we met up recently, and it was a good time catching up.

Thanks for the Bangladesh T-SHIRT! I wore it yesterday and it fits!

non-verbal communication in India

What?

Non-verbal communication is also important. Much has been made of the confusing Indian head nod for yes and no, but the only important thing to understand is that Indians have different nods for yes, ok and no.

  • If they are shaking their head back and forth, they mean yes.
  • If they are nodding their head in a tilting motion from right to left, they mean okay indicating acceptance. The movement is in a figure eight, and looks identical to the western nod for “Sort of”.
  • If they shake their head from left to right twisting it about the vertical axis, they mean no.
  • Can? *shakes head
