funerals and cousins

One of my aunts said,”It’s only at funerals and weddings that you cousins meet one another.”

She then commented,”Oh .. heard you’re getting married! When’s the wedding?”

I went back to Penang on Friday, for my late aunt’s funeral on Saturday. When I heard the news on Thursday, I was taken aback by it as I didn’t expect anything to happen to her. I am sad that she didn’t have a chance to receive Christ.

Sometimes it’s pretty hard to reach out to our family members. Having some other family members that have misrepresented or once came across too strong .. doesn’t help! I guess the best sharing that I can do right now is to live a life that’s upright and speak out about God’s goodness in my life and allow it to touch hearts!

Speaking about life, the trip was a very fruitful one, as my cousin drove the whole journey and being the co-driver .. I kept him company through some really diverse topics of conversation. Asked him for advice too, and it was good to hear from someone who’s made it in the corporate world, but started from the ground by doing sales.

I think through that almost 9 hours of travelling on the road was also an opportunity to see who I’ve become and not stick as the cheeky little rascal that he used to know.

Big boy already mah.

Gotta make it a point to .. meet my cousins. In fact, I’m meeting his younger brother tomorrow in JB, as I travel down for work. North to south .. *fuh
