Was at PortDickson the whole weekend, from Friday evening till today [ Sunday afternoon ]. A weekend with the youth leaders of GT Youth Church, encountering God in a personal and also corporate manner. I had a real good time being with peers, people my own age, and also older people who were there. I miss that feeling of having people older and more matured around me because in Uni, I am with a bunch who is younger by age and maturity. It was nice, because we were all leaders in our own right.. so everyone was very responsible with everything!
We arrived there at 7pm, just in time to have dinner prepared at Golden Sands Baptist Center. Session followed, and Ps. Julie started on a very light note which slowly turned to a time of worship and rededication to God. She challenged all of us to remove the masks that we may have put on, after being in the ministry for so long. I could sense that there were a lot of leaders that were tired of the masks that they were wearing week-in week-out in Cell and in Church. It was timely, because of the nature of the retreat. There was just a need to pull down defences and be transparent with God and each other.. as we were all leaders! We can hide, but not from God. I just felt that I needed to watch my life closer, as I do feel that I have been a little.. forthcoming about my authority, position and anointing in my life to the extent of appearing prideful. It isn’t intentional, but I really need to watch that area. Easiest way to fall - have pride and glory in your own greatness.
Slept early, and woke up naturally the next day. It was cold in the morning, because of the pouring rain. I wanted to have a walk and breathe in some of the fresh air by the sea, but alas.. the rain prevented it. After worship, Ps. Julie spoke about having integrity and character, and that as leaders, we must work on these two virtues constantly, to be a good leader. Trust is one of the most important thing that a leader needs to project in his/her life. Mentioned a few issues in church that had to deal with trust [ or rather, mistrust ] and confidentiality. Had a time of running around and playing at the beach in the evening. Joined the guys in basketball for a short while too, but stopped after feeling my muscle pull. The night session felt really long, as I was having a headache.. and my body temperature was prolly up by a little bit. Played in the sun for a little bit too long. Hehe. Was better later that night, during the BBQ. Stayed outside at night and spoke to my intern leaders of the Cell. I just listened to them share about what God has spoken to their lives, among other stuff. Felt very glad that God’s slowly moving them according to His plans. May He continue to raise them up to be effective leaders.
Woke up on a Sunday morning feeling really tired and out as a result of staying up the night before. Had a good breakfast and practised for the worship session as I was worship leading in the morning for the communion service. Communion was especially special [ ooo... superlative superlative! ] and meaningful. We served one another, like when they did it in the bible, 2000 years ago. Later, all the leaders were being prayed for, and I received the word that I wanted from God. Praise God for His promise. Did couple of things during camp:
1. Jogged on the beach
2. Bit soap. Yes. Half a bar of soap in pieces, chewed. Bad taste.
